Run - Job Descriptions -
Air Boss: Senior Club Officer present
Overall responsibility for the event in the eyes of the State of Virginia
and the Keeper of the Poker Run POT [$5 from each player] -
Poker Run Coordinator: Larry Walker
Responsible for planning event, general coordination and support between
all other Coordinators;
securing volunteers -
Release Form Coordinator: Lew Clement
Responsible for drive-in attendee & pilot release forms -
Poker Run Airfields Coordinator: Larry Walker
Responsible for contacting 8 airfields, securing permission or notifying
use of each field, explaining what will happen, where to place "card boxes".
Prepares card-sets of 7 Poker Run Airfields for use during flight [contains
pertinent airfield info] -
Poker Card/Envelop/Box + Distribution Coordinator: Jim Willess and Larry
Walker
Responsible for preparing 7 boxes containing equally distributed number
of playing cards each in own envelope, delivering & picking up boxes at
each participating airfield, placing box at field designated location -
Club Sales Coordinator:

Responsible for manning any sales of club goodies during Poker Run at WAP -
P/A + Entertainment Coordinator:

Responsible for setting up P/A system at WAP [if needed]; explaining
activities; making announcements;
secure volunteers -
Signs & Announcements Coordinator:

Responsible for posting, removing & stowing direction/ancillary signs
at WAP post announcements
to webpage and newsletter - alert other area Flying Clubs - secure

Responsible for collecting all "Poker Run" associated facility

Responsible for preparing/giving Poker Run ROE, safety briefing, explain
emergency procedures - conduct any other field operations/activities, coordinate with Poker Run airfields, secure volunteers -

Responsible for contacting Fire & Rescue Svcs one day prior to the
event. If Lenn Bros-- contact Culpeper 911 Dispatcher--540/727-3400. If WAP--contact

Fuel & Oil Coordinator:

Responsible for picking up/removing large fuel pump/tank, filling with
fuel & dispensing during event; having some 2-stroke oil available, secure
volunteers -

Responsible for purchasing club-provided foods (hamburgers, hotdogs,
buns, condiments),
drinks, & supplies, coordinating "pot-luck" contributions, setting up
kitchen, BBQ cookers, cooking utensils, Establish cooking crew, get
eating materials & utensils, setting up serving areas - secure volunteers -
Cleanup Coordinator:

Responsible for setting up trash cans around field, over all cleaning
& policing -

Responsible for taking "digital" pictures of the event and sending
them to the "POKER RUN"
DESCRIPTION: The
Poker Run Rules of Engagement [ROE] are: The
purpose of this Poker Run is to have a safe & fun flying event, play a hand
of poker, and hold a party afterwards. -
At around 0900 - Participants are asked to meet (with aircraft ready to go) at
START airport

Each participant antes up $5 (TBR) to play . A safety briefing is given emphasizing emergency procedures..
A poker run briefing is then given (covering Rules of
Engagement -
Each aircraft then flies to each designated airport (route optional at pilot -
Participants then play his poker hand using their accumulated cards.
The poker game rules will be reiterated at Warrenton Airpark. -
An after-action review is conducted to find out what went well, what could -
Participants, ground crew, and others, then eat at Warrenton Airpark. -
