Flying Sites

1) Warrenton Airpark

Warrenton Airpark (WAP) is the primary flying site for the USUA Club 1 PPG Group. It is a privately owned airfield on the outskirts of Warrenton, Virginia. It is just a beautiful place to fly, with a gorgeous view of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the distance and the lush green Virginia country-side for miles around. WAP is owned by Tom Richards. He has been a great supporter of us PPG pilots, and has enabled us to make the airpark our "homebase" (for lack of a better word!) We do pay a nominal fee to fly there - $100 each per year, which is a bargain for such a beautiful site so close to DC. As you can imagine, maintaining such an airpark takes a lot of work. We encourage pilots to volunteer for lawn mowing and to participate in various work parties held throughout the year.

Directions (from the Fairfax, VA area):

Warrenton Airpark (Beatley Field) - 7VG0
N 38-39.20; W 077-47.13
- Take I-66 West to Exit 43A, Rte 29 South to Warrenton
- Follow 29 South for about 12 miles
- The road will split, stay LEFT to continue on 29 South for about another 3 miles
- Take Left on 616 (look for a big red Massey-Ferguson sign on left), go 1.5 miles
- Take Right on Green Meadows Road
- Take Right into the first driveway on the right
- At fork in the driveway, stay left. You’ll see the hangars after driving about another 100 feet.

NOTE: Pay attention to the "No-Parking" signs. If there are signs out that say not to park on grass or in a particular area, please follow them. Remember, this is Tom’s private property.
