Flying Sites
1) Warrenton Airpark Warrenton Airpark (WAP) is the primary flying site for the USUA Club 1 PPG Group. It is a privately owned airfield on the outskirts of Warrenton, Virginia. It is just a beautiful place to fly, with a gorgeous view of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the distance and the lush green Virginia country-side for miles around. WAP is owned by Tom Richards. He has been a great supporter of us PPG pilots, and has enabled us to make the airpark our "homebase" (for lack of a better word!) We do pay a nominal fee to fly there - $100 each per year, which is a bargain for such a beautiful site so close to DC. As you can imagine, maintaining such an airpark takes a lot of work. We encourage pilots to volunteer for lawn mowing and to participate in various work parties held throughout the year. Directions (from the Fairfax, VA area):
Warrenton Airpark (Beatley Field) - 7VG0
NOTE: Pay attention to the "No-Parking" signs. If there are signs out that say not to park on grass or in a particular area, please follow them. Remember, this is Tom’s private property.
